Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR)

The group’s approach to business and people is epitomized by the wide variety of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) activities undertaken by ETA Star. It’s CSR activities include procurement and distribution of mobile medicare units, building homes for the homeless, providing aid to earthquake, tsunami and other natural disaster victims and engaging in clean up campaigns and environment related programs.

Since 1973, the group has been serving the global community with its outreach efforts. This has touched the lives of millions.

Our Initiatives:

Home for the Homeless

ETA Star Group supports “Red Crescent Authority” for ‘Home for the Homeless’ program with over $ 500,000. ETA Star and its joint venture partners donate one per cent of total sales towards this cause.


Mobile Medicare Unit

ETA Star Group supports Help Age India in a big way for Mobile Medicare unit in Ramanathapuram district in Tamilnadi in India. ETA Star has contributed presented a  check for  $ 43,000 (Indian rupees equivalent)  to Help Age India towards running cost & capital cost for one year for running a Mobile Medicare Unit. ETA Star has signed a MOU with Help Age India to support this newly started unit at  cost of $100,000 (Indian rupees equivalent) for three years which includes the cost of the new Mobile Medicare unit Van.

Apart from this ETA contributed $12,000 ((Indian rupees equivalent) towards the first installment of approved donation of $24,000 (Indian rupees equivalent) for providing free cataract IOL surgeries to 1000 poor elders in India. This new Mobile Medicare unit will provide free medical treatment for the sick and poor old people living   in ten deserving and needy villages in and around Ramathapuram district. This Mobile Medicare unit is the latest addition to host of 51 Mobile Medicare units of Help Age India which are spread all over the country.


Red Cross Society of China.
ETA Star Group has contributed $400,000 to the Red Cross Society of China for the rehabilitation of Sichuan earthquake victims.


UN-supported world campaign
More than 7,190 employees and senior management officials of ETA Star Group gathered on October 18 and 19 in Dubai to express their solidarity with the UN-supported 'Mission Green Earth Stand Up and Take Action' campaign. Sporting bright white signature T-shirts, over 7,190 employees of ETA Ascon Star Group from all over the UAE gathered at Salahuddin Road, Deira, early morning on October 18 & 19 and pledged to eradicate extreme poverty and work towards an environmentally sustainable world.Seeking to create a better world for the mankind, the campaign pledges to: Serve humanity by creating a truly global civilization, acting in harmony to eradicate poverty, disease and hunger. Cherish our beautiful planet by integrating measures in our lives that contribute to protecting natural resources, ecology and environment. Achieve the goal of universal primary education and reduce child mortality. Promote gender equality, empower women and improve maternal health. Create long-term sustainable partnerships that will help us reach the above goals.


ETA Star International signs MoU with TERI on environmental studies
ETA Star International, member of the Dubai-based $5 billion ETA Ascon Star Group, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with The Energy Research Institute (TERI) of India to explore areas of co-operation in an effort towards sustainable development. The MoU pertains to co-operation between ETA Star International and TERI in a number of areas including the assessment of buildings to get them LEED-certified in basic, silver, gold and platinum ratings. The agreement enables ETA Star International to provide these services to other organizations in the UAE and Gulf region.The other areas of co-operation include conducting environmental impact studies, energy audits of commercial, residential and industrial units, Clean Development Mechanism (CDM) studies and reducing carbon footprint in the UAE.


ETA Star partners with Habitat for Humanity for the 'Homes for the Homeless' initiative
ETA Star announced its partnership with the Habitat for Humanity International (HFHI), a not-for-profit organization, headquartered in Georgia, USA, dedicated to eliminating poverty housing, for its Homes for the Homesless initiative. UAE-based organizations Dubai Lifestyle City, Homes r Us and Star Cements are also partnering with ETA Star to be part of the noble venture.


Humanatarian aid for the homeless at Myanmar and Pakistan flood relief
ETA Star Properties donated 5000 kgs of rice grains for the benefit of people affected by Cyclone Nargis in Myanmar. The donation is being made through the World Concern Nargis Relief Team the world's largest international food assistance organization.

The staff of the ETA Star group has once again reacted positively to the call for financial aid, and have voluntarily contributed generously towards Pakistan Flood Relief. The amount contributed is being proportionately distributed between the UAE Red Crescent and the Indian Prime Minister’s Relief Fund. A check for $130,000 (equivalent local currency) was given to UAE Red Crescent on 14th December 2010. This amount is in addition to the ETA Management contribution of $68,000 (equivalent local currency) which was given to UAE Red Crescent in September 2010.


Japan Tsunami Relief
The Employees and the Management of ETA Group made a voluntary contribution of fund for Japan Tsunami Relief. The Directors of ETA Star group visited the Japanese Consulate in Dubai and met his Excellency the Consul General of Japan Mr.Takashi Ashiki and presented a check of $150,000 (equivalent local currency) towards tsunami relief.

This check is towards 50% of the total amount of $300,000 (equivalent local currency) being pledged by the company for tsunami relief. The balance amount of another $150,000 (equivalent local currency) will be given for the cause through the U.A.E Ambassador in Japan.

The Consul General appreciated the noble gesture of the employees and the management of the company and profoundly thanked.
